Those who actively seek to obstruct the public expression of thoughts or ideas that challenge their ideology are exposing their ideology as weak, too weak to withstand challenge or criticism. They are exposing their own personal lack of faith in the soundness of their ideology.

It is a self defeating strategy since it provokes others’ curiosity to discover the ideas that the obstructers are hiding from them.
