That is precisely what I wrote. You are startlingly accurate.

I never stated that Feminists resort to manbashing to discredit ideas that they voice. Your assertion, in that case is startlingly inaccurate. Instead, I stated that Feminists apply the term “misogynist” to discredit ideas, expressed by non-Feminists, that challenge the ideas Feminists voice.

The two sentences that you cited are not related to each other, either ironically or in any other way.

The first is a smart aleck remark (because I am, after all, a born smart aleck) responding to a graphic essay that, by its nature, invited a smart aleck retort, and that was about as smart aleck as I could manage before my first cup of morning coffee

In my smart aleck retort I applied the term manbashing because of its alliterative association with the term mansplaining.

The second sentence expressed my understanding of the word “misogynist,” an understanding that I arrived at by observing how the word is used in the context of internet conversations. My only experience with the use of that word is its use by others in internet conversations. It is not a word that I, myself, ever apply, either in internet conversations or in ordinary, day-to-day life. It is not a word that has ever been applied by any of my personal acquaintances in any of their conversations. The only basis I have for defining the word “misogynist” is through the context in which I observe its use by others in internet conversations.

Are you suggesting that the term “misogynist” is not regularly applied to thoughts or ideas that challenge Feminist ideology? — That it is applied to thoughts or ideas that support or affirm Feminist ideology?

If you can find an association, ironic or otherwise, between the two sentences that you cited, I would appreciate your explaining it to me.

I do not oppose your efforts to “empower women,” nor do I actively support them. It is your prerogative to empower women if that is what you wish to do. If, however, you seek to impose expectations upon me in the process of empowering women, then I will actively defy those expectations.

I recognize no obligation to conform my conduct, my thoughts, or the content of my conversations to Feminists’ expectations.
