That is an interesting thought. (Does anyone actually run that far?)
It could be tested. Someone could arrange a different kind of marathon. Instead of a race to see who can run a fixed distance the fastest, the contestants could race to see who can run the farthest. They would keep running until they could run no more. The last one running would be the winner.
If the theory is correct, the winner would be a woman.
I have never run a marathon, but I once jogged a similar distance with no training or preparation beforehand. Later that evening my legs were so sore I literally had to lift each leg with my hand to get up the porch steps. I wrote a story about it:

I am familiar with the theory regarding male vs. female intelligence spread. There is the usual debate over whether it occurs by nature or because of differing experiences. There are also those who challenge whether it is even accurate. My position is: I don't know.
