Society is not "designed." It is the emergent result, the unintended consequence of individuals collaborating with other individuals to procure life-sustaining and other essential resources from the environment that they inhabit. The form it assumes is primarily determined by the nature of the environment. It does not conform to the will or intention of any individual or group.
