If some of the women want to throw a party I have no objection, but don't try to demand that I have some sort of obligation to participate in the preparation during my free time at home. If it is not in my job description, it is not an obligation; it is not "part of the job."
This is no different than the secretary who objects to fetching coffee for the boss because it's not part of her job.
I am not alone in that attitude. Most of the men felt the same as I.
The term "emotional labor" is just ideological jargon.
