Men experience sexual access to women as a scarce resource. Their behavior is consistent with the behavior of people everywhere, throughout history, who have experienced scarcity of any essential resource. They pursue the resource more aggressively than they would if the resource were abundant. They are more likely to test limits and stretch boundaries. Their resistance to moral transgression is reduced. They devise strategies and employ subterfuge in their efforts to gain access to the resource. They compete, often ruthlessly, for access to the resource. This description applies to the behavior of any population that is experiencing scarcity of any essential resource.
Your proposal, if it were to be carried out, would exacerbate the scarcity of sexual access to women that men experience.
How would the increased scarcity be likely to influence men’s behavior? For better? Or for worse?
I’ll let you be the judge.
