I'm going to begin this comment by stating my IQ; My IQ is 0. You read that correctly - zero.
I am entitled to special consideration because of my IQ.😎
When I was in grade six, many years ago, the sixth graders were given an IQ test. Before the test, one student asked the teacher, "When will we learn our scores from the test?"
The teacher responded, "You will not be told your scores. Your score is none of your business." That is word for word what she said. She continued, "We will tell your parents what your score is. They can tell you what it is if they want."
Mine decided not to tell me my score.
A few years later, when I was a high school sophomore, the sophomore class was given an IQ test. The same conditions applied; they were not going to tell us our scores.
I decided, "If my score is none of my business, it's none of their business either."
The test format was multiple-choice. As I was taking the test, I determined the correct answer to each question. If the correct answer was choice "A," I filled in "B." If it was "B," I filled in "C," etc.
A week later, I was summoned to the office of the school psychologist. She explained, "Your score on the test you took last week is inconsistent with your observed abilities. If the score you got was accurate, you would not be able to do most of the things that you do every day."
I suppose that is psychologese for "Your IQ couldn't really be zero or you'd be dead."
She also mentioned that she was unable to detect a pattern in my answer choices that would explain my score. I wondered what kind of IQ the psychologist must have if she couldn't detect such an obvious pattern.
Then she said, "We're going to schedule a retest for you."
I nodded. Then she started asking psychologist questions:
"Have you been having problems with your parents?"
"How are you getting along in school?"
"How is your social life?'
"Are you happy with your friends?'
I answered each question dismissively.
"I'm okay." "Everything is fine." "I have no problems in that area." Etc.
I wasn't paying much attention to the psychologist. I was thinking about how I would sabotage my retest. I realized the risk of using the same pattern twice. It would increase the chances of being detected.
I was never retested. My official IQ is still zero.
