I’m familiar with “power to” as in “power to the people”…..

…but I’m lost when it comes to “power with” or “power over.” I would also be ignorant of “power under,” power through,” “power for,” power by,” “power around,” “power about,” or any other form of prepositionally modified power. The exceptions would be “power up,” which is what I do to my computer in the morning and “power down,” which is what I do to my computer in the evening.

You have devised a way for people to organize themselves that you believe is more effective than the traditional ways that people organize. That you wish to promote your idea is of no consequence to me; I wish you the best of success. You are part of an organization that employs your method successfully and can serve as a model to demonstrate its effectiveness. Others who observe your success and who emulate your system may also experience success. If your method proves superior in practice it could become the new standard. I have no issue with someone promoting a novel system under which to organize.

I imagine that your system would stand its best chance of success among populations small enough in number to allow each individual to be personally acquainted with every other individual. According to anthropologist Robin Dunbar the maximum would be around one hundred fifty individuals. Your system would likely prove most effective among self selected populations whose members have made a conscious, voluntary commitment to practicing the system.

Within “society at large” the adoption of your designed system as the general social order would be impeded by the existence of active resisters within the population. Additionally, corrupt, greedy, lustful, selfish, jealous, envious, and fearful individuals would, individually and in alliance, seek to dominate others because they would recognize that doing so confers practical advantages.

If it should happen that “society at large” begins to conform to the system that you have devised, then congratulations — you have succeeded in your goal.

I have already stated the conditions under which I would act as an opponent to social reform:

Those are the only conditions under which I would defy or resist efforts towards social reform.

My description of a good leader: A good leader is one who can lead his people to their desired destination even when they are convinced that he is taking them in the wrong direction.
