If a man prefers to be with someone who is more particular about her appearance then it would make sense for him to be particular about his. Maybe the young men who are not dressing up for a date are more like me. Maybe they are looking for someone who is less concerned about her appearance. Maybe they are not expecting the woman to dress up.
