I have been using a bicycle as a form of transportation most of my life. At age 70 I can still ride up-hill in high gear.

But...

Try riding a bicycle through a foot of snow or on a sheet of ice.

I suppose you could try using a bicycle to plow the snow or de-ice the pavement.

The practicality of a bicycle as a form of transportation is limited.
