I don't understand why a man would express contempt for a woman offering him something he wants. I suspect that it would be the other men, to whom she is not making herself available, who, out of jealousy, would call her a slut. Also, other women may be jealous because she has gotten attention from a particularly popular man.

I agree that if the man feels emasculated, he is probably not a suitable match for that woman.

One or two rude people can indeed cause more than their share of distress.

Obviously, men seeking sexual access to women would specifically target women. It would be sensible to target women they perceive as approachable and alone. If their experience has been that women are resistant to allowing sexual access, then approaching vulnerable, persuadable women would be pragmatically sensible.
