Howdy, stranger.

“It’s strange to me.”

It was sent in from out there.

“ still I liked it…”

Thank you.

“…I think you’re anti-feminist…”

My concerns regarding Feminist practices are expressed in my comment above. If you are inclined to apply the term “anti-feminist” to describe them, then that is your prerogative and I have no quarrel.

For those who wish to associate me with an ideology, consider me a radical pragmatist.

“…I kinda consider myself a feminist…”

There is nothing wrong with being a Feminist:

https://medium.com/@Estwald/there-is-nothing-wrong-with-being-a-feminist-if-that-is-what-one-wishes-to-be-9b45d36333df

I am moderately familiar with Feminist scholarship. The theories that support Feminist ideology impress me as fundamentally flawed. They represent neither an adequate nor accurate representation of the structure or dynamics of human society. Feminists seek to enact legislation on the basis of their flawed theory and ideology which I consider to be unwise, unjust, and potentially damaging. The major Feminist organizations succeeding with their legislative agenda would impede the advancement of my interests. As a practicing pragmatist I therefore resist and invite others to resist.

“…most are not extreme in their views…”

As stated above, the number who are extreme is irrelevant; the relevant measure is the amount of influence they have.

Many of the less extreme are inadvertently acting in ways that help increase the influence of the more extreme.

I will not support a movement that advocates or practices censorship:

“And she said it so condescendingly!”

It is not unusual for Feminists to express themselves using a smug, condescending tone. Those of us who express opposition to Feminist practices must be prepared to respond to this smug condescension. Here is an example — ->

Sometimes they are downright insulting — ->

As it happens, I am indeed Jewish. You may relax. I don’t participate in sensitivity culture. I prefer that people speak their minds. I lost the capacity to be “triggered” years ago after listening to the ghost stories that our Scout leaders would tell us as we sat around the campfire on a dark night in the middle of nowhere.

This comment is illustrative of my relationship with institutional religion in general.

I was born after World War II was over. I never experienced Nazi concentration camps. I experience no pain in connection with someone’s story. All stories are worth hearing. Who knows what one of us would do in similar circumstances. Then again, she could be making up the whole story. Who knows?

I realize that when the term “Nazi” and the term “Feminism” appear in the same conversation there is a risk that the reader’s attention may be distracted from the intended message. The intended message may be obscured when the reader’s attention is drawn to what appears to be a provocative comparison between Feminism and Nazism.

Here, in more direct but less colorful language is the same message:

If one publicly and intentionally associates oneself with an ideology or a movement, then others will appropriately associate that individual with the public reputation of that movement. The individual can reasonably be considered to share responsibility for the results of the movement’s activities.

Rather than comparing Feminists to Nazis, I am citing a logical extreme in order to expose the flaws in the particular argumentative form illustrated below:

I am a participant in this movement (or practitioner of this ideology) but I am not associable with the more extreme, yet most influential, participants in the movement. The public reputation of the movement in which I claim to be a participant does not apply to me. I have no responsibility for objectionable acts committed by activists representing the movement in which I profess to be a participant.

“…the right to vote…”

√ Done.

“…the right to earn money…”

√ Done.

“…the basic right to engage in society in a similar fashion as men do.”

√ Done.

Now what?
