Each generation relays its culture to the next. Somewhere, at some time, culture had an origin. Where and when did human cultures begin? How and why did humans start constructing cultures?

There is a trend in evolution. Multicellular organisms emerged as collections of specialized single-cell creatures. Single eucaryotic celled creatures emerged as collections of specialized prokaryotic cells, which emerged from replicating RNA and DNA.

Following the same trend, will multiorganismic life emerge as specialized collections of single multicellular organisms? Time will tell.

Humans already have a collective unconscious. They operate in distinct collaborative populations where individuals specialize in distinct tasks, each contributing to the larger collective.
