After paying attention to the things I observe feminists doing and saying, here is how I have defined feminism:

Feminism is an ideology that operates as the foundation for a movement whose aim is to advance what its participants consider to be the interests of women.

Anyone, male or female, who practices feminist ideology or participates in the movement is a feminist.
